Frequently Asked Questions

What therapeutic approach do you use?

My therapeutic approach is integrative, meaning I draw from several evidence‑based modalities to meet each client’s unique needs. My work is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Family Systems, and Attachment‑Based approaches. I also incorporate trauma‑informed care throughout our work together to ensure that therapy feels safe, collaborative, and paced with care.

What is therapy like?

Therapy is a supportive, collaborative space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences without judgment. Sessions typically involve talking through what feels most present or important to you, identifying patterns, and developing tools that help you move toward meaningful change. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable, and you are always encouraged to share what is or isn’t working so we can shape the process together.

How involved are parents?

For children and adolescents, parent involvement is an important part of the therapeutic process. While sessions with young clients are confidential, I collaborate with parents to support the child’s progress, provide guidance, and ensure that everyone feels aligned in helping the child thrive. The level of involvement varies depending on the child’s age, needs, and goals, and we will discuss what feels most appropriate for your family.

What is confidentiality?

Confidentiality means that what you share in therapy is private and protected. I do not disclose information from our sessions unless you give written permission or in specific situations where I am legally required to act for safety reasons, such as concerns about harm to yourself or others. We will review these limits together so you feel informed, safe, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
